Due Diligence

Our due diligence expertise is the independent identification and evaluation of technical and commercial risks for our clients. Whether for a wind farm project in Mexico or a pipeline of wind farms in South Africa, our experienced services highlight issues and criticalities giving valuable expert advice on the project.

Our Due Diligence services include:

  • Development phase Due Diligence: technical and commercial assessment of individual projects and portfolios at the pre-authorization stage, where aspects of the technical design may not yet be fully defined and necessary consents and other key agreements may not yet be in place.

  • Acquisition Due Diligence: providing detailed technical and commercial advice to secure and enhance or critically appraise the value of assets in construction or operation. Assist in developing or reviewing all relevant project documentation, including permitting and technical design documentation as well as commercial agreements such as EPC contracts, Operation & Maintenance contracts and Power Purchase Agreements. Providing a comprehensive analysis of key risks and appropriate mitigation options with cost-benefit analysis.

Electrical and Grid Interconnection Studies

In response to the need to verify whether a conventional or renewable power plant is compliant with local Grid Code interconnection requirements Voltaica Engineering developed dedicated services using power system modelling, analysis and simulation software.

New rules and grid codes to connect generators to the grid are emerging worldwide. In every country or region, the operators responsible for the safety and reliability of the power system have established different requirements to connect renewable generation systems to transmission and distribution networks. Such requirements are highly dependent upon the characteristics of individual power systems.

This procedure requests some preventive DEM correction techniques.
