Design was aimed to accurately assess the construction works costs in order to bid a competitive price with the local Transmission System Operator. The tender was also awarding the technical quality of the project.

This plant was located in an area with special logistic criticalities so it was subject to preliminary geospatial analysis aimed the identify access road tracks by "Least-Cost Path Analysis" GIS tecniques.

Topography and geographical surveys were conducted in order to optimize cost and timing.

Finally, due to the presence of an area characterized from accentuated acclivities, stream dense network presence, poor accessibility and presence of extremely dense vegetation forest (rain forest), n°3 basic design substantial modifications of civil works road network were carried on, aimed to minimize the earth movement and the related civil works costs. Activities included hydrological and hydraulic calculation for ditch design, as well as stuctual calculation complying with national and international structural codes.

MV collector system sizing, power flow analysis and earthing system calculation including the wtg earthmat design was performed complying with IEC normative.
